Estas palavras ligam duas ações na mesma frase. Depois delas vem um sujeito e um verbo.
| Palavra | Significado | Exemplo |
|---|---|---|
| before | antes de / antes que | I wash my hands before I eat. |
| after | depois de / depois que | After I eat, I rest. |
| while | enquanto (ao mesmo tempo) | I listen to music while I cook. |
| when | quando | Call me when you arrive. |

Atenção: Quando a frase começa com before, after ou when, usamos vírgula antes da segunda parte. Não existe “after of” nem “while of”. Falando do futuro, depois de when / as soon as usamos o presente: “Call me when you arrive”, não “when you will arrive”.
